Kent and Janet Wellish, members of Midbar Kodesh Temple, are proud to announce that their
daughter, Hanna, successfully completed a three-year Scenic Art Apprenticeship through the United Scenic Artists Local 829. She is based in Brooklyn, NY where an abundance of television, film and theater productions are created. Hanna was a student at Midbar Kodesh Temple being called to the bima to celebrate her bat mitzvah. Hanna also was a MKT USYer.
As a scenic artist, Hanna works closely with the designer and scenic charge artist in the layout, priming, painting, texturing, sculpting, and creating detailed visual effects for the set and select props. She uses techniques such as faux wood graining, marbling, aging, resin casting, wallpapering, foam carving, spraying and stenciling to create the desired appearance for the camera.
During her time as an apprentice, Hanna worked on many productions including the following shows: The Irishman (NETFLIX, Martin Scorsese), Madam Secretary (CBS), Mr. Robot (USA), Rise (NBC), The Americans (FX), Daredevil (NETFLIX, Marvel), Ray Donovan (SHOWTIME), Bull (CBS), Gotham (Fox, DC), I Know This Much is True (HBO) and Billions (SHOWTIME).
As soon as productions begin filming again, Hanna will be seen with her paintbrush, paint roller and sandpaper creating art on set for movies and shows watched by us all.
