Our All Encompassing Religion
One of the beautiful things about our tradition is that every aspect of our lives is touched by Judaism. The halachik system or Jewish Law, affects what we do from the time we wake in the morning until we go to sleep at night, and there are even guidelines about how you are supposed to sleep.
Even intimacy and sexual relations are discussed, argued, and legislated by the rabbis in the Talmud. Author Maggie Anton gives us access into the minds of the rabbis and their attention to detail on the subject of sex. In her book, Fifty Shades of Talmud: What the First Rabbis Had To Say About You-Know-What, she uses humor to help us get over our inhibitions about the topic.
We are lucky enough to have the author coming to speak to us a week from Sunday on November 17th at 7 PM here at Midbar Kodesh Temple. If you have not had the chance to read the book, you still have time. It is a quick and easy read that will bring a smile to your face.
You can get it on Amazon.
Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom.
Come join us at Services Friday night for Birthday and Anniversary Shabbat – there will be cake!
