An important message from Susan Tecktiel.
Last spring, the Tecktiel family had the privilege of being honored for our ten years in the Henderson community at Midbar Kodesh Temple. We can say, that it’s an exciting time to be part of the Midbar Kodesh Temple, Religious School and Early Childhood Center family. We have experienced incredible growth, we continue to excel in innovative programming, and the vibrancy that exudes from every corner of our campus is electrifying.
Such success is only possible through the commitment of time and generosity of our community and volunteers. Though we appreciate the effort of all, we also want to recognize a couple who have gone above and beyond. This year, as part of our Spring Campaign, we ask you join us in celebrating the contributions of our friends and congregants, Susan and Chuck Schwartz.
We can’t think of a more deserving couple for this honor than Susan and Chuck. From early in both their lives, they were driven by a love for Judaism and a commitment to support community organizations that could foster that same passion in others.
When Susan and Chuck moved from San Diego to Las Vegas more than twenty years ago, they were committed to finding a Jewish home, and Midbar Kodesh became just that. Susan has served on the Youth Commission and Board of Directors, and as synagogue president. Chuck chaired the High Holy Days Committee for many years and worked with a committee to revise our synagogue’s bylaws. Susan and Chuck support all the fundraising efforts for Midbar Kodesh and always raise their hands whenever anything is needed. They represent the trifecta of time, talent and treasure, and because of them, Midbar Kodesh Temple is the vibrant and welcoming home that we have all come to appreciate.
This year marks our 4th Annual Spring Campaign, and each year it grows stronger. Midbar Kodesh Temple members and community friends have already begun supporting our campaign and now we need your help!
What amount are you able to pledge?
Our goal is $70,000 and with your support, we know this is possible. As a thank you to our campaign supporters, we’ll cap off our efforts with an all-ages Family Celebration on March 31st at 4 PM at Midbar Kodesh Temple. To join us at the celebration, you need only pledge a minimum of $50/person, or $180/family.

Midbar Kodesh Temple is a diverse community where our members learn with depth, find inspiration for their lives through worship, and join in an inclusive community. Families of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Midbar Kodesh, the “Holy Desert”, was founded by six families in 1995. They set out to create a new synagogue that was inclusive and welcoming. Today, Midbar Kodesh Temple is over 200 families, focused on improving lives through spirituality and social action in our community.
