L’dor V’dor – From Generation to Generation

Several years ago, members at Temple Beth Sholom started a quarterly program for seniors who live across the valley. The goal was to bring the seniors to the synagogue for a morning of entertainment and lunch. It gets them out and gives them the opportunity to socialize with their peers. It has been quite successful and this year the decision was made to have one of the events hosted on the east-side of town.

On Tuesday May 16th we will be hosting over a hundred and fifty seniors. We have the entertainment arranged. The Kochavim class (4-5 year olds) from our ECC will sing a few songs as will our own Cantor Gale. Following the entertainment the seniors will be treated to a delicious sit-down lunch prepared by Chef Gustav Mahler.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need volunteers for everything from helping the guests on and off the bus to escorting them to their seats in the sanctuary and later into the social hall. We need people to help set the tables. We need people to help check-in the guests as they arrive. We need volunteers to serve the meal and sit with the guests. There is a task for everyone.

Let’s take the opportunity to show our famous Midbar Kodesh hospitality.

The time commitment is Tuesday May 16th from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. If you can only come for part of that time, let us know and we promise to find something for you to do.

Please contact Rabbi Tecktiel at ravt@midbarkodesh.org if you are available to help.

There will be a meeting in advance of the event on Thursday May 11th at 11:00 am to finish coordinating our efforts.
