Midbar Kodesh Temple team in the Hot Chocolate Run
Midbar Kodesh Temple members Stuart Stern, Susan Tecktiel, Rabbi Bradley Tecktiel, Abbie Villanueva and Cindy Goussak finished the 15K at this year's Hot Chocolate Run which took runners through the heart of the Las Vegas strip on a recent Sunday morning. The group trained for the run as part of Rabbi Tecktiel's push for physical fitness among his congregants.
Rabbi Tecktiel, told the congregation during last high holiday services that he had spent the past year getting off the couch and into the neighborhoods for recreational workouts and took to bike riding to lose weight and help get him into shape. He encouraged others to join him in healthy, active endeavors. This is the second Hot Chocolate run that congregants trained for and several participated in November's Turkey Trot.
As part of his fitness adventure Rabbi Tecktiel will join Midbar Kodesh Temple members Ed Pack and Mike Bell in Israel this May for the Ramah Israel Bike Ride. The annual ride raises funds for the International Ramah Camps' special needs programs which host unique camp sessions for children and adults with disabilities at Ramah camps all over the world. This multiple day bike ride through Israel will take the bikers along a Mediterranean to Dead Sea route, making stops in Sderot and the Western Negev, through Jerusalem and the Judean Hills with a closing ceremony on top of Masada.
By sponsoring Midbar's riders you can participate in helping to raise awareness and scholarships for the families. Check out the following links to offer your support:
