Rebekah Winkler will be called to the Torah at Midbar Kodesh Temple on November 19
Rebekah Winkler will be called to the Torah at Midbar Kodesh Temple on November 19. She will be joined by her parents, Steven and Sharon as well as her brother Aaron, along with her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who will celebrate from morning until night.
Rebekah is in the seventh grade at a local private school. She has been on the honor roll and has enjoyed performing in theater programs for the past several years. She also enjoys acting, dancing, singing and playing club soccer. Her favorite subjects are science and history.
Rebekah says to "look for something positive in each day even if some days you have to look a little harder."
Rebekah volunteers in the preschool at Midbar Kodesh Temple when her schedule permits. On numerous occasions she has helped raise funds and donations for the NSPCA. She likes to watch as much soccer as she has time for and her favorite teams are the American Team and Manchester United.
Rebekah actively recycles and to this end her mitzvah project was to collect used crayons from restaurants and schools. The crayons were collected and sent to the "Crayon Initiative" where they will be melted down in order to make new crayons to donate to children in hospitals.
